MUMBAI: The
Railway Protection Force (
RPF) of
Konkan Railway
was instrumental in recovering stolen valuables and returning lost belongings of passengers recently.
In November, the RPF staff took action in seven separate cases with arrest of criminals involved in the theft of passenger belongings, and valuables valued at Rs 2.48 lakh. The stolen property was receovered and returned to passengers.
"In addition, valuables left behind by the passengers in train were also returned by RPF to the rightful owners,'' an official said.
"The RPF has also been at the forefront of rescue of children found lost/ abandoned/destitute etc at railway premises and in trains. Seven children were rescued due to the efforts of RPF personnel at various stations in November," said Konkan Railway chief public relations officer L K Verma.
