Mumbai reports 1,037 new cases

Mumbai on Tuesday reported 1,037 new cases of coronavirus, which took the caseload to 6,99,904. The city saw a steep fall in the number of deaths as 37 patients succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 14,708. The total number of recoveries surged to 6,55,425 with 1,427 more discharges. Mumbai now has 27,649 active cases.

Accident on WEH

The driver and cleaner of a cement mixer vehicle were seriously injured on Tuesday as the vehicle spun out of control and rammed into a divider. The crash was reported on the Western Express Highway at Borivali East at 7 am. No deaths were reported. An offence has been registered against the driver. Police suspect the driver of the vehicle was speeding.

Help desk for relatives of Barge P305 tragedy victims

The Mumbai Police has set up a help desk outside JJ Hospital mortuary for the relatives of those who lost their lives in the Barge P305 tragedy. Officials from the ONGC were also present at the spot to coordinate with the people and help them identify the deceased as their own.
