MUMBAI: The India Meteorological Department(
IMD), Mumbai, has forecast that continuous rains are likely to occur in the next 24 hours with heavy to very heavy rains are expected.
The rainfall recorded in the past 24 hours (August 20-21) from 8.30am-8.30am by the
IMD Colaba
observatory has been 83mm while the
IMD Santa Cruz
observatory has recorded 119.8 mm of rainfall. The rainfall recorded in the last 24 hours by the
Santacruz
observatory is the second highest August rain for a period of 24 hours since the year 2012.
The minimum temperature recorded in the city witnessed a drop owing to the continuous downpour. On Monday morning minimum temperatures recorded by IMD Colaba observatory was 23 degree Celsius while in case of the IMD Santa Cruz observatory it was 21.8 degree Celsius. Just a day ago minimum temperatures recorded by IMD Colaba and Santacruz observatory were 24.5degree Celsius and 23.7 degree Celsius.
