Fire at BJP state headquarters; no one hurt

MUMBAI: A fire broke out at BJP’s Nariman Point office on Sunday. No one was hurt. The blaze, which started around 4.30pm, was doused in about 10 minutes. It was confined to the electrical wiring.

A fire brigade official said, “Prima facie, the fire may have been caused by a short- circuit in a ground-floor room. A mattress in the room went up in flames. We reached the spot in about two minutes.” The office was shut, but the security staff and a few party workers were on the premises, said the fire official.
