MUMBAI: A 26-year-old actor has lodged a complaint with the Naigaon police against a producer who had been allegedly stalking and molesting her since May. The police have registered a case of stalking and molestation against the producer. However, no arrest has been made yet. The actor, who has worked on a Punjabi album and was seeking more work, met the producer in a hotel in Naigaon on May 17. The producer allegedly made obscene comments about her outfit, and despite her objections, he continued to make offensive statements.
After leaving the hotel, the producer began calling her on her mobile phone, using foul language when she answered. The woman blocked his number, but he continued to call her from other numbers. As she was looking for work assignments, she would answer the unknown numbers, only to hear the producer using abusive language against her.
In her complaint, the actor has stated that while the producer did not give her any work, she felt that she was being deprived of work by others as well. She approached the police after the producer allegedly sent her offensive messages early this week. The actor has shared with the police screenshots of the messages and details of the calls made by the producer. The police said that the producer would be interrogated, and that they would also attempt to obtain closed circuit television footage of the hotel in Naigaon where the alleged molestation was first reported.
