Proposed subway pathway under development

The pedestrian subway is planned to stretch 1 km from the Acharya Atre Chowk Metro station to Mahalaxmi Racecourse and the Coastal Road’s parking hub at Haji Ali, with a branch of 120 metres.

The subway’s main corridor is designed to be 7.5 metres wide, with a possible car park connection proposed at a width of 18–25 metres with a capacity of 1200 cars.

Two exits of the Acharya Atre Chowk Metro station—near Worli Naka and Nehru Science Centre—are considered for integration with the pedestrian subway.

The car parking hub near Haji Ali was redesigned from a 2-level to a 4-level underground structure, accommodating 1,200 vehicles.

The subway provid direct pedestrian access to Mahalaxmi Racecourse, improving accessibility to South Mumbai’s largest open space development.
