This UP shop stops selling Chinese products, loses Rs 18 lakh in a year
NOIDA: Patriotism took a new form in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar district, better known for its history of communal tensions, where a wholesale gift shop has stopped selling

Anupam Kansal, 40, says, "Around three years ago, I decided not to sell Chinese lights on Diwali. I used to sell Chinese lights worth Rs 5-6 lakh in every Diwali season at that time. I let this money go “only for my country”, because the country is above everything."
"China earns lakhs of crores of rupees during festivals though they don’t celebrate our festivals. With one hand, they are making a hell lot of money out of our markets; one the other hand, they are threatening us. In fact, they are using our own money against us," said Kansal.
Explaining the economical aspect of his move, Anupam said, "Since we are selling Chinese products, manufacturing is gradually shifting to China. With this shift, unemployment here in India is increasing day by day.
"If we continue to buy and sell Chinese products just for securing some money, how can Make in India succeed?,” he asked.
On being asked if his retailer customers don’t grudge on the unavailability of Chinese products at his shop, he said that around 90 per cent of his customers lauded his move and vowed to support him in his “movement”.
All this started after Anupam came in contact with Swadeshi Jagran Manch, an RSS affiliate, working for ‘indigenousness’, claimed Kansal.
