Milestone for Namo Bharat

Manual control trials

NCRTC CPRO Puneet Vats said the Namo Bharat trains will initially run under manual control to test structural compatibility.

Modern transit system

NCRTC will assess the train's performance and its interaction with tracks, signaling, platform doors, and power supply.

61 km in 45 mins

Once operational, Namo Bharat trains will connect New Ashok Nagar to Shatabdi Nagar, covering 61 km in under 45 minutes.

Shatabdi Nagar

Shatabdi Nagar, Meerut’s second Namo Bharat station, will integrate Namo Bharat and Meerut Metro services.

Meerut Metro

The Meerut Metro conducted its first trial run in January between Meerut South and Meerut Central at a nominal speed.

4 stations within Meerut

Namo Bharat (Rapid Rail Transit System) will have 4 stations within Meerut.

Boost to urban transit

Once operational, it will ease traffic on the Delhi-Meerut road and provide a convenient alternative to UPSRTC buses for local commuters.

Multi-state connectivity

India's first RRTS corridor is a joint venture between the central government (50%) and the state governments of UP, Delhi, Haryana, and Rajasthan (each 12.5%).

Delhi-Meerut in 50 minutes

It is being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 30,270 crore and will reduce the Delhi-Meerut commute to just 50 minutes.

RRTS corridor will have 24 stations, with approximately 70.5 km elevated and 11.5 km underground.
