Muzaffarnagar: A 26-year-old man allegedly stabbed his elder brother to death after an argument on Friday night in Kotwali area here. After the murder, Monu Kumar went to Kotwali police state and surrendered.
According to the accused, Monu, his elder brother, Rajnish Kumar (28) was a drunkard and he used to fight with the family after consuming liquor.
On Friday night, they again fought over a trivial issue. In a fit of rage, Monu stabbed his brother several times with a kitchen knife. He also got injured in the scuffle.
“Rajnish was addicted to alcohol, and he used to fight with me every night and troubled the family. We had tried to persuade him to leave the alcohol, but to no avail. On Friday night, he again indulged in a fight with us. He also attacked me,” Monu said. He has been admitted to Muzaffarnagar district hospital.
“The deceased’s body has been sent for post mortem examination and an FIR was lodged against Monu Kumar under section of 302 IPC (murder),” said Sanjeev Kumar, station house officer (SHO) of Kotwali police station.
