Dakshina Kannada's village to host 2-day children’s film fest

The purpose of the festival is to introduce students to quality cinema of different genres. "We are expecting nearly 200 students from class 6 to 10 to participate in the festival along with prominent writers and litterateurs from the region and journalism students from Vivekananda College and St Philomena College in Puttur," said Lakshminarayan Kajegadde, convener.

On the first day, two films Sa.Hi.Pra.Shaale, Kasaragodu (Kannada) and

will be screened. Two

movies Karanthaajjanikondu Patra directed by Bharati Shankar and Railway Children directed by Prithvi Konanur will also be screened. "Children will be asked to review The Red Balloon and the best reviews will be rewarded," he added.

An interaction with director Rishab Shetty has been organised and Ranjan, Sapta Pavoor and Sampath child artists from the movie Sa.Hi.Pra.Shaale, Kasaragodu, will be honoured.
