Mangaluru: Two adventure enthusiasts began a cycling expedition for a cause from the city to Srinagar, to spread awareness on organ donation. The expedition is part of the outreach activity of city-based NGO Centre for Integrated Learning, and was flagged off by the past district governor of Lions International District 317D Arun Shetty.
Cyclists Jagadeesh Kulal and Shrinidhi Shetty took off on the 3,500-km journey being cheered by adventure enthusiasts at different places, including at Kudmul Ranga Rao Town Hall, Haleangady and Mulki, before they reached Udupi on Sunday, marking Gandhi Jayanti.
With the objective of creating awareness on organ donation and environment, the expedition titled ‘Saarthakam’ is supported by - Jeeva Sarthakathe, Narayana Nethralaya, Asian Paints, Cardolite Chemicals, Lions Clubs, among others. The expedition will traverse through 10 states of India and reach Srinagar in about 30 days. TNN
