CA students' conference on June 5
Mangaluru: The Mangaluru branch of Southern India Chartered Accountants Students Association (SICASA) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (CA) will host two-day national conference for CA students titled 'Udgam-Origins of Excellence: Where Knowledge Finds Its Source,' on Friday and Saturday.
Daniel Marsh Pereira, conference coordinator and chairman of the Mangaluru branch of Southern India Regional Council (SIRC )of ICAI, addressing reporters on Tuesday, said that the conference is is being organised under the aegis of the Board of Studies–Operations (BOS-Operations), ICAI, and hosted by the Mangaluru branch of SIRC and SICASA of ICAI.
Pereira said the conference is expected to attract CA students from across India, offering a national platform for learning, peer networking and professional orientation. He noted that UDGAM has been designed around the idea that excellence begins with a defining source of knowledge, mentorship or perspective, and aims to provide that turning point for participants.
The programme spans two full days, and includes four knowledge sessions and six skill-up sessions. Topics include artificial intelligence and technology in audit and taxation, emerging tax law, GST updates, startup ecosystems and capital markets, mental wellness, examination strategy and professional branding.
Key resource persons include CA Rajesh Sharma, chairman, BOS-operations, ICAI, who will speak on ICAI student initiatives, the new curriculum and opportunities ahead. CA Madhukar N Hiregange, central council member and indirect tax expert, will also address students. Skill-focused sessions will be led by CA Tarun Jagdish on mindset and performance, CA Bhanwar Borana on exam strategy and personal branding, and CA Gajanan Kamath on venture capital and emerging career landscapes.
A rankers' panel featuring CA Ramyashree (AIR 2), CA Prajwal Kamath (AIR 31) and CA Prasanna Shenoy (AIR 15-CA) will be moderated by CA Naveen N. Wellness and emotional intelligence sessions will be delivered by nutritionist Jayalakshmi Hegde and motivator Dhiraj Shetty Mijar.
