Stalin attacks EPS over delimitation bill
Madurai: Chief minister M K Stalin, who was wearing black shirt for the past two days, switched over to his usual crisp white shirt on Friday evening after the delimitation bill was defeated in the Parliament.
Before scaling up the stage for the election campaign in Dindigul, he set fireworks and distributed sweets to the public. On the stage, Stalin launched a sharp attack on the BJP as well as its ally AIADMK for the delimitation bill.
"Not just BJP, AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami has also faced a defeat even before the election," Stalin said. Stalin said the defeat of the bill in Parliament marked the downfall of the NDA in Tamil Nadu. "I had already said that TN will fight and will win. Today, Tamil Nadu has won. All the opposition parties questioned what will happen when one shows black flag and black shirt. We have shown what will happen," he said.
"This defeat alone will not be sufficient, people will give them a bigger blow in the election on April 23," he said.
CM Stalin said that the first and final blow to the saffron party would begin from Tamil Nadu. "Don't provoke Tamil Nadu. You will not be able to bear the consequences. In the 12 years tenure of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this is the first and biggest defeat," he said.
"They thought Tamil Nadu would be careless and would not act. However, Tamil Nadu will always be alert because Muthuvel Karunanidhi Stalin is here. The fire lit here has burnt the arrogance in Delhi," he said.
Stalin said the black shirt army has shown the saffron army its place. "They attempted to bring the delimitation bill using the mask of the women's reservation bill. However, INDIA bloc has defeated it. On behalf of the people of TN, I thank all the MPs and leaders of the parties which they belong to for voting against the black bill," said Stalin.
Stalin said delimitation bill was like a blank cheque on which states are asked to sign. "Without knowing what they are going to do, how can we accept it," he asked.
Referring to EPS as a slave, Stalin said, "In such an important issue he (EPS) has remained silent. You said that the Union govt would only do good. Is this your stand? Why do you need a party and leader for this? This is why I asked EPS to dissolve the party (AIADMK) and join BJP," criticised Stalin and posed 10 questions to EPS on his stand and silence on language policy, Neet exemption and FCRA bill.
During his campaign, Stalin also referred to his write-up on delimitation which was published in TOI.
