National Lok Adalat: 18 cases settled

Madurai: Eighteen cases were settled during the national Lok Adalat held by the Madurai bench of Madras high court here on Saturday.Five benches headed by Justice S Srimathy, Justice R Vijayakumar, Justice K K Ramakrishnan, Justice K Govindarajan Thilakavadi and Justice P Vadamalai were constituted to hear the cases. As many as 456 cases were taken up on Saturday, out of which 18 cases were settled. A total compensation of 4.41 crore was settledSimilarly, 11,716 cases were taken up at the national Lok Adalat held on Madurai district court campus on Saturday. As many as 11,538 cases, including 179 motor accident cases, were settled. A total compensation of 28.23crore was settled.
