‘Nalam Kakkum Stalin’ medical camp held in Madurai

Madurai: A multi-specialty medical camp under the ‘Nalam Kakkum Stalin' initiative was inaugurated at the Tamukkam Madurai Conference Centre on Thursday. About 1,500 people participated in the camp, including 200 pregnant women, 150 differently-abled individuals, and 1,150 patients who underwent laboratory tests.The camp offered 24 types of blood tests and screenings for high blood pressure, echo, x-ray, diabetes, breast and oral cancer, ECG, ultrasound, cervical examination, tuberculosis, leprosy, and kidney diseases.
It also provided free specialised medical services through 17 departments, including general medicine, women's health, neurology, ophthalmology, diabetes care, general surgery, paediatrics, dermatology, ENT, pulmonology, siddha medicine, orthopaedics, cardiology, dental, mental health, neurology, and ayurveda.The camp was in the presence of MLA G Thalapathy, deputy mayor T Nagarajan, and corporation commissioner Chitra Vijayan.
