Gandhigram Rural Institute to accept CUET scores for admission to UG courses

MADURAI: The Gandhigram Rural Institute-Deemed to be University (

GRI

) at Chinnalapatti in Dindigul district will be accepting the Common University Entrance Test (

CUET

) scores for admission into undergraduate (UG) courses and five-year integrated programmes of the institute from the academic year 2022-23.


CUET is a computerised objective-type exam for admissions to

UG courses

in science, arts and commerce, set to be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) from 2022. The Tamil Nadu state assembly recently passed a resolution demanding scrapping of CUET.

According to a press release by GRI, the admission to 14 UG courses and two five-year integrated programmes will be based on CUET-2022. The courses and programmes offered by GRI include BSc mathematics, BSc physics, BSc chemistry, BSc home science, BSc textiles and fashion design, BSc geology, BSc microbiology, BSc computer science, BSc agriculture (Hons), BSc BEd mathematics, BSc BEd chemistry, BSc BEd physics, BBA, BCom cooperation, BA economics,

B Tech

civil engineering, MA Development Administration (5-year integrated), and MA sociology (5-year integrated).

Those who want to get admission to join these programmes at GRI have been asked to apply for the CUET UG-2022 online at https://cuet.samarth.ac.in. They can also refer to the information brochure and eligibility conditions available on the GRI-DTBU website at www.ruraluniv.ac.in.
