Four arrested for luring women into prostitution racket

MADURAI

: The city police have busted a prostitution racket by arresting four people who lured gullible women by advertising jobs in spa and massage centres on the internet and then force them into flesh trade.


A team of personnel from the anti-human trafficking unit rescued five women from two different locations and sent them to a government home. Police sources said that they received a tip off on Thursday about prostitution at a house on Madurai-Theni Road, with the front of a finance office.

When police raided the house, a lone woman who was locked up inside was rescued. According to police, the rescued woman is from New Delhi and was locked up there by a man named Mudarsir, 32.

, Mudarsir advertises jobs on the internet and lures young women and hands them over to a couple - who run a prostitution racket, police said.

The couple - Jayavel and Jeeva Priyadarshini run a spa near Nagamalai Pudukottai, in which they force the women into prostitution. The couple make the women pose for unsavoury pictures and send them to Mudarsir who passes them on to potential clients, police investigations revealed. Based on the information provided by Mudarsir, a police team raided the spa near Nagamalai Pudukottai and arrested the in-charge, Anees, 37, of Kerala and rescued four women from there.

All the women were sent to the government home for rehabilitation.
