2 killed as car rams two-wheeler

Dindigul: Two people were killed on the spot after a speeding car rammed their two-wheeler near Batlagundu in Dindigul district on Sunday evening. The deceased were identified as Alagumalai, 60, a native of Muthulapuram, and his relative Muniyandi, 60, from Poosaripatti.The two were travelling from Muthulapuram to Batlagundu on their two-wheeler. When they neared Batlagundu, a car coming from Sempatti lost control and collided with the two-wheeler. Both men sustained fatal head injuries and died before medical help arrived.Pattiveeranpatti police recovered the bodies and shifted them to Batlagundu Govt Hospital for autopsy. The accident caused a massive gridlock on the busy stretch for more than an hour before police cleared the mangled remains of the vehicles. A case was registered, and further investigation is underway.
