on Friday assured that they would take up the issue of Ukraine-returned MBBS
students
with chief minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on priority basis.
A delegation of students had met the deputy commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma today and submitted a memorandum of their demands. Both the MLAs were also present on the occasion.
While speaking to media persons, MLAs Madan Lal Bagga and Gurpreet Bassi Gogi said that a large number of
MBBS
students, who had to return from
Ukraine
due to ongoing war, had contacted them regarding some of their issues. They said that the students want the government to help them in admission to medical colleges in Punjab. They assured the students that they would take up this matter with the Chief Minister on a priority basis.
“They are our sons and daughters and we assure them they would be suitably adjusted in the medical colleges here,” assured the MLAs.
Deputy commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma assured that the district administration would forward their memorandum to chief minister Punjab for necessary action.
The students thanked the MLAs and deputy commissioner for interacting with them and assuring them of a positive outcome.
