Punjab: SAD, BJP condemn cases against street vendors, support protest by union members
LUDHIANA: The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders
Extending support to street vendors, district president of Shiromani Akali Dal Ranjit Singh Dhillon, youth Akali Dal district president Gurdeep Singh Gosha and BJP leader Kamal Chatly said that the Congress government has directed the police and municipal corporation to register case against street vendors. The SAD and BJP will stand rock-solid with street vendors and face the cases of police, he said.
Ranjit Singh Dhillon, Gurdeep Singh Gosha and Kamal Chatly said that they are not against the anti-encroachment drive but the administration and municipal corporation should allot vending zone to the vendors. To register a case is not a solution to any problem and the people will give reply of cases to congress sin upcoming cases, they added.
