, candidate of
Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) which is contesting the election in alliance with the
Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), held a pubic meeting at Gopal Nagar and Haibowal Khurd of Ludhiana West constituency on Thursday.
Addressing a gathering, Grewal said that the residents of Ludhiana West are disappointed by the working of Congress government and their policies and they also understand the tactics of the Aam Aadmi Party which had announced fake guarantees.
“Residents know that it is only Sukhbir Singh Badal’s led SAD-BSP alliance which is capable of fulfilling the promises and restoring the glory of the state,” he said.
“There are areas in the constituency where people are not getting clean drinking water. Moreover, the street lights are not properly working. There is poor drainage system in areas like Haibowal, Jawahar Nagar,” Grewal said.
Grewal promised that if the SAD-BSP alliance forms the government, all streets will be well-lit and CCTV cameras will be installed in all wards to keep check on criminal activities. Moreover, clean drinking water will be ensured in every home and drainage issues will be overhauled at utmost priority.
