Office bearers of the association informed that they Recently PUCA delegation met with the Technical Education Minister of Punjab. Now PUCA would also meet Delhi’s Chief Minister and AAP’s supremo Arvind Kejriwal on 29th February.

It is pertinent that due to absence of regulatory body for private universities in Punjab, these universities are starting new courses day by day and giving admissions to students in bulk. As a result small colleges in state are at the verge of closure.

PUCA’s president Anshu Kataria says, “Punjab government has promised many times to form regulatory body for private universities in state, till date no such regulatory body has been formed. Moreover Akali- BJP Government has given assurance many times in assembly regarding the formation of Regulatory Body.”

He further informed that Amit Sharma, Senior Vice President; Gurfateh Gill, Vice President; Gurpreet singh, General Secretary; Ashok Garg, Treasurer; Gurkirat Singh and CA Renu Arora both Joint Secretary, Manmohan Garg, Finance Secretary, Anoop Bansal, head social media; Gurinder Jwanda and Cherry Goel, coordinator; Dr. Akashdeep Majha, coordinator; Sanjay Chopra, Doaba Coordinator would also be the part of this delegation.

On the one hand the states like Himachal Pradesh have formed the Regulatory Body and the entire admission procedure, eligibility process, infrastructure; faculty etc is monitored by that regulatory Body. While on the other hand in Punjab, Private Universities are being not monitored by any Regulatory Body.
