Police arrest three more accused in murder case

TNNLudhiana: A day after police filed a case against 23 persons in a murder case in Machhiwara area, they arrested three more accused. They also seized two vehicles and weapons used in the crime. The arrested accused are Gurvinder Singh Gindu and Jaspreet Singh Jassa of Haidon Bet village and Satvir Singh Shammi of Lakhowal Kalan. SP headquarters, Khanna Harpinder Kaur said after the incident, multiple police teams were formed and sent across Punjab as well as other states. She added that police teams arrested four persons in the case. The main accused, Davinderpal Singh Jaila of Bairsal Kalan village, was arrested on Saturday.According to the police, more than 10 suspects have been detained and are being questioned.A police officer said that some of the accused are suspected to have gone underground and might have taken shelter in other states. The officer added that raids are on to nab them.On May 1, around 6:30pm, Machhiwara Police Station received information about a clash between two groups in Saini Enclave Colony. Acting on the information, police, along with forensic and dog squad teams, reached the spot.Police said Gagandeep Singh Billa of Hedon Bet village died on the spot, whereas Manpreet Singh Mani sustained serious injuries and was admitted in PGI Chandigarh, where he is undergoing treatment.
