Ploggers Drive 2.0 unites citizens against plastic pollution
Ludhiana: Marking World Environment Day, the Philanthropy Club, in association with district administration and MC, organised Ploggers Drive 2.0 across the city on Thursday. Starting 5.30am, participants covered over 25 routes, collecting plastic waste that was later deposited at the MC point near Rose Garden. Around 35 NGOs, schools, colleges and corporate groups joined the drive.
DC Himanshu Jain and MC commissioner Dr Neeru Katyal flagged off teams, stressing public participation in environmental protection. Organisers said teams collected waste from key areas, including Sarabha Nagar, Model Town and Dugri. The event also featured a nukkad natak, yoga session and an eco fair promoting sustainable practices.
