PAU honoured at startup conclave

Ludhiana: Punjab Agricultural University’s Punjab Agri Business Incubator (PABI) was conferred with the Best Incubator Awar” at the Startup Samagam 4.0 – Leaders’ Conclave 2026. Punjab governor Gulab Chand Kataria presented the award.

PAU V-C Dr Satbir Singh Gosal received the award alongside the core PABI team, which included principal investigator Dr TS Riar and co-principal investigator Dr Poonam Sachdev. Gosal stated that the accolade directly reflects PAU’s core commitment to fostering research-led entrepreneurship and sustainable agribusiness solutions that directly benefit farmers and rural communities.

Dr. Riar highlighted that the award honors PABI’s long-standing role in nurturing innovative startups in agriculture and allied sectors. The incubator achieves this by providing young innovators with structured business mentoring, hands-on training, funding facilitation, professional networking, and long-term institutional support.

The Leaders’ Conclave itself served as a premier regional platform, bringing together Punjab’s top entrepreneurs, investors, academic institutions, incubators, and policymakers. Officials noted that the event focused on high-level discussions around investment opportunities, startup scaling, and collaborative innovation, with PABI’s win firmly reinforcing its position as a leading agribusiness hub in the region.
