LUDHIANA: Ludhiana police have recovered all four DVRs, two wi-fi modems stolen from the office of CMS, a cash management company, in the money heist case. The DVRs and modems were dumped by the accused in a nullah in Barnala.
The police also arrested two more thieves who had stolen the heist money from a Chevrolet Cruze car parked outside the house of one of the robbers in Barnala and recovered Rs 4 lakh cash. The arrested accused are Damanpreet Singh Amni and Pawan Kumar Jolly. Apart from this, Rs 14 lakh more has been recovered from the already arrested accused Abhi Singla of Barnala. Earlier Rs 10 lakh was recovered from Abhi. The total recovery in this case so far stands at Rs 7.14 crore, with the arrest of 18 accused.
Ludhiana police commissioner Mandeep Singh Sidhu said, "The DVRs can be vital evidence for the police if the crime was recorded in it."
On June 10, a gang of robbers had struck the office of CMS in the Amar Park area, held the staffers and security personnel captive and robbed Rs 8.49 crore. The accused had also taken away DVRs, three .12 bore rifles and a cash van of the company.
