Ludhiana: Excise dept seizes illicit liquor; 2 arrested

LUDHIANA: A team of the Excise department on Tuesday arrested two persons along with 30 cases of illicit liquor during checking at a check post at Transport Nagar, Ludhiana.

Revealing more information about the case, an official spokesperson of the Excise department said that accused Charanjit Singh and Manpreet Singh both residents of Manjit Nagar, Ludhiana while crossing the check post with car no. PB 10 AZ 2372 were intercepted by the excise team.

On checking, 30 cases of illicit Whiskey labelled as ‘for sale in Chandigarh only’ found from their possession.

Spokesperson also said that FIR has been registered in this regard at the Police Station Moti Nagar, Ludhiana and further investigation is under process.
