Ludhiana: An NGO organized the 'Swacch Dugri' carnival as part of its Clean and Green Dugri campaign. It was aimed at sensitizing children on the need for cleanliness and planting trees. Events organized as part of the carnival included marathon, zumba dance and painting competition. More than 100 children participated in the carnival, showcasing skills like dancing, singing, acting and mimicry.

Under the campaign, which aims at cleaning the road from the entrance of the CRP colony to Kartar Chowk, they cleaned roads and planted trees.

NGO member Baljeet Kaur said, "The campaign aimed at cleaning the roadside of part of Dugri, being used by people to dump garbage and construction material."

Simardeep Kaur, who stood first in the painting competition, said, "It feels good to participate in the carnival. I want to be a painter and winning this competition was a happy moment for me."

Parminder Kalra stood second.
