Bikers snatch phone from 10-year-old girl in Ludhiana.

Ludhiana: Two motorcycle-borne men robbed a 10-year-old girl of mobile phone and cash in a residential lane of Jagraon on Monday, an incident captured on local CCTV.

The girl and several other children were returning from their uncle’s house when the men intercepted them in Babbe Wali Gali, near Rani Jhansi Chowk, says the girl’s father, Jaiveer.

The riders questioned the children about their parents' whereabouts. When the children replied that their parents were walking just behind them, the men rode ahead, executed a U-turn, and approached the group a second time.

The suspects then threatened the 10-year-old, snatched her phone and cash, and fled. The robbery left the children terrified, causing several to flee the scene in panic.

Locals expressed alarm over a recent spike in thefts, noting that criminals are increasingly targeting residential streets and fuelling a sense of insecurity.

Inspector Parminder Singh, the Jagraon city police station chief, did not respond to requests for comment. However, police sources confirmed investigators were reviewing the CCTV footage to identify the suspects.
