UP board exam results: Lucknow high-scorers attribute success to hard work and parents
By: Mariyam Shakeel, Love Agarwal
LUCKNOW: UP Board schools in the city echoed with loud cheers and celebrations, with students celebrating their success in classes X (High School) and XII (Intermediate) UP Board exams, after results were declared on Thursday.
Though no city student figured in the board’s top five list, two High School candidates from the city, Adria Chaurasia and Arohi Singh from Lucknow Public College Rajajipuram, ranked 10th along with 26 students from the state, scoring 96.17%.
Resident of Thakurganj, Arohi Singh said, "My parents have been my biggest strength, keeping me free from burden of any kind, so this success is theirs as much as mine.” She scored 91 marks in Computer, 93 in Science, 96 in Social Science and 99 in Hindi, English and Mathematics.
Her father, Pradeep Kumar Singh, a govt teacher, always stressed quality over quantity, advising her to study with full concentration, not just for long hours.
Arohi shared an insight that while she planned a seven-hour study schedule, she avoided continuous studying and took five to 10-minute breaks after each chapter to keep her mind fresh.
Similarly, Adrija Chaurasia recalled the mix of excitement and nerves just before the results. "Five minutes before result was declared, I was sitting with my parents, feeling anxious and excited. I was expecting around 90-95%, but when I saw the result, I was beyond happy,” she said. She scored 91 in Science, 91 in Social Science, 98 in Computer and 99 in Mathematics, Hindi and English. Resident of Balaganj, Adrija is daughter of Raj Kishor and Rachna Chaurasia, both teachers. She said her parents always encouraged her to focus on achieving something meaningful in life, stressing that marks were never the priority and doing well was what truly mattered. “My success is outcome of attending extra classes, revising regularly and staying consistent,” said Adrija, who aspires to be an IAS officer.
