Special gifts for Ayodhya's Ram Lalla from Rajasthan

LUCKNOW/AYODHYA: Special gifts for Ram Lalla arrived in the temple town of Ayodhya on Sunday from Rajasthan . Saints and seers from Rajasthan handed over the two massive metallic gifts to the Ram temple trust on Sunday.

Made up of ashthadhatu (alloy made through a combination of multiple metals) two items were ferried from Sheoganj in Rajasthan to Ayodhya in special trucks (Ram rath). While the mace has been created through 1,600 kg of alloy, the bow was crafted with about 1,000 kg material.

Head priest of the Ram temple, Satyendra Das, received the two gifts and they would be presented to the lord after religious ceremonies are carried out.

Saraswati Gaud from Sheoganj in Rajasthan, who presented the gift to the Ram temple, said that work on creating the two items commenced during Ram Navami.
