RMLIMS fetes blood donors, awards contest winners

Lucknow: Encouraging eligible donors to participate, Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences celebrated National Voluntary Blood Donation Day, on Tuesday. Chief guest Amrita Soni, vice president of State Blood Transfusion Council, launched the celebration by releasing balloons and flagging off a bike rally.The institute's director, Dr C M Singh, welcomed urged increased voluntary blood donations. Dr Geeta Agarwal discussed the state's blood safety programmes, while Dr Ravindra Kumar emphasised the importance of blood donation. Soni expressed hope to achieve a target of nearly 2 million blood units in next financial year.Organisations and individuals were felicitated for their contribution to blood donation. Winners of the poster making competition were Rishabh Bhartiya, Rahul Shukla, Ayushi, Radhika, and Vikas, while slogan competition was won by Shipra Chaudhary, Chuiping Shi, Riya, Divya Mishra and Keosha.
