Lucknow, the capital city of Uttar Pradesh, has a rich multicultural heritage. The city is renowned for its exquisite gardens, poetry, music, and refined cuisine, which were favored by the Persian-loving Shia Nawabs who ruled the region. Among Indians and students of South Asian culture and history, Lucknow is famous as "The City of Nawabs." Places to see

Lucknow has several places for tourists to visit and enjoy. Visitors can enjoy the sight of one of India's largest clocktower or the marvel of the Rumi Gate, the 60-feet high structure built during the reign of Nawab Asafi-ud-Daula in 1784-86.
