Union HRD minister to address Lucknow teachers

LUCKNOW: Human resource development minister Prakash

Javadekar

will address a teachers’ conference on ‘New Model of Education in 21st Century’. The conference will be held at

City Montessori School

on Monday. The conference will deliberate on ways to steer education in the 21st century.

Javadekar will speak on amendment of Right to Education Act, 2009, and how automatic promotion till grade 8 under the RTE has discouraged the testing of children by teachers. The

HRD

minister will also share views on teachers’ accountability. He will also put forth the changes the central government is making to build a great education system in the country.
