Lucknow: With only a day left of the present session of state assembly, the UP government has yet to introduce a bill to ratify the Centre's much-talked about GST bill.

On Thursday, an extended day of the house, members are likely to assemble for a very brief period, as hinted by Speaker Mata Prasad Pandey.

Whether the GST bill will be ratified on Thursday or not is still not clear. So far, 13 states have ratified GST Bill, which the Centre plans to implement by April next year. Since the current assembly session in UP Vidhan Sabha is expected to be the last before the state goes to poll, the state's stance on GST is not clear yet.

When asked about it, Leader of the BJP in the House Suresh Khanna too expressed ignorance on whether the government would get the Centre's GST Bill ratified on Thursday or not.

If UP government fails to ratify the Bill in this session, it may have to call for a special session of the Vidhan Sabha before the state goes to polls.
