‘Hockey stars praise govtfor facilities’

Lucknow: Captain of Punjabi University Anil Malik and team manager Ranjit Singh have full praise for the UP government which they said left no stone unturned to ensure successful conduct of the Khelo India University Games.
Anil Malik and Ranjit were also happy with the performance of their team which won the hockey title on Thursday, defeating Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar 3-2 in a shootout.
They said that the UP government had ensured international-level facilities to every player who visited the state for the Khelo India University Games. They said that during their stay here they never felt that they were away from home. Meanwhile, star player of the women hockey team of MD University Haryana which won the gold medal in the KIUG Sumita Jain said that they had formulated a special strategy for their final match against ITM University Gwalior. “For us it was not a tough task,” she added.
