Drainage works to be expedited at Lucknow node of def corridor
Lucknow: Additional chief executive officer of UPEIDA, Shashank Chaudhary on Tuesday visited the Lucknow node of the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor to review the progress of ongoing infrastructure works and assess project implementation.
During the visit, he took stock of the status of road construction, drainage development and boundary wall works. Officials, engineers and representatives of executing agencies were directed to ensure adequate manpower and resources so that all works are completed within the stipulated timeline.
A joint meeting was also held with officials of the BrahMos manufacturing unit. During the discussion, company representatives raised infrastructure-related concerns, particularly the possibility of waterlogging during the monsoon. They pointed out that inadequate drainage could affect industrial operations.
Following the discussion, Chaudhary directed officials and executing agencies to strengthen the drainage network, expedite the construction of drainage channels and closely monitor areas vulnerable to waterlogging. He instructed that all necessary corrective measures and pending works be completed on priority before the onset of the monsoon.
The review also covered other infrastructure facilities being developed within the project area. Officials were asked to prepare and implement a coordinated action plan aligned with the requirements of industrial units. Emphasis was laid on improving coordination among departments and agencies to address issues affecting project execution.
