Akhilesh Yadav meets UP governor over 'lawlessness' in UP

LUCKNOW: Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav on Friday met governor Anandiben Patel at

Raj Bhawan

and sought her intervention in improving the "deteriorating law and order" situation in the state.


Akhilesh, along with senior leader Ahmad Hasan and national spokesperson

Rajendra Chaudhary

, also handed over a memorandum to her over the alleged lawlessness in the state. He avoided media after the meet saying he will talk about it later.

Later the party informed about the meet through its official twitter handle, saying, "SP president Akhilesh Yadav, leader of opposition Ahmad Hasan and national spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhary met the Governor on the issue of law and order and informed her about the out of control situation. She was urged to intervene for improving the conditions."


The meet came a day after Akhilesh sought to know from the government as to when the “brutality” by the police during

Citizen Amendment Act

protests would be investigated. He had alleged that police were not writing the FIR and postmortem reports of deceased in the clashes were not being given.
