Ahead of PM Modi’s visit, Yogi inspects site for Ganga expressway inauguration
Lucknow: Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s April 29 visit to inaugurate the Ganga Expressway, chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday carried out a site inspection at the proposed event venue, at the Mallawan Cut in Hardoi district’s Bilgram tehsil.
The CM visited the site and related areas and held a meeting with senior officials who are implementing and monitoring the work. He was accompanied by the divisional commissioner, district magistrate, superintendent of police and other senior administrative and police officials.
The CM reviewed all arrangements, including the helipad, public meeting venue, VIP route, parking, barricading, security and traffic management. Directing officials to prioritise security for the event, the CM said that a multilayered security system should be in place with effective coordination between the police and the administration.
At the site of the public meeting, the CM emphasised the need for proper seating, good quality of the pandal, availability of drinking water, cleanliness, toilets and uninterrupted electricity supply.
“The public attending the event should not face any inconvenience and all arrangements must function smoothly. Traffic flow should be smooth during the event. Alternative routes should be identified and adequate police force should be deployed along the route and at the venue. Ensure the installation of clear signboards to avoid inconvenience to the public,” the CM said.
Yogi also assessed the arrangements for emergency services, including ambulances, fire services and medical facilities. He said that govt should be prepared to effectively handle any unforeseen situation.
The CM asked all concerned officials for detailed updates on the preparations, including final touches to the Ganga Expressway, and instructed them to complete all works within the prescribed timelines. He also directed officials to carry out regular review of arrangements so that immediate rectification of any shortcomings can be made.
The CM also directed officials to carry out plantation of ‘Hari Shankari’ saplings around the venue.
