KOZHIKODE: DYFI's Kozhikode district committee came out against the police alleging that innocents were being hounded in connection with the case related to attack on security staff at the medical college. Five DYFI activists, including state committee member Arun K, who are accused of assaulting three security staff at the medical college and attacking a journalist, had surrendered before the police on Sept 6 after the district sessions court dismissed their anticipatory bail plea.

The committee alleged that police were repeatedly turning up at the homes of relatives and friends of the accused and threatening them. DYFI district secretary PC Shayju said that police publicly threatened and insulted a pregnant woman at a Kudumbashree hotel on Wednesday. He said the district committee will write to the CM and file a petition with the police complaint authority. TNN
