Kerala: Police seize explosives near Mukkam

KOZHIKODE: The Kozhikode Rural Police, on Saturday seized 1000 kilo gram of gelatin sticks and seized a truck from Odatheruvu near Mukkam. The police team also arrested the driver and owner of the Tamil Nadu-based truck.
According to police, over 8000 gelatin sticks were found hidden in secret boxes in the truck. The truck was inspected by the police team following a tip off.
The explosives were stored in 44 secret boxes and in a few sacks, said the police.Each box contained 200 pieces of gelatin sticks. The seizure was made around 5am on Saturday by a team led by sub-inspector of Mukkam, K Abhilash.
The police arrested Mathesh Neduppatty (40) from Selam.
