KOZHIKODE: Four more persons including two health workers tested positive for Covid-19 in Kozhikode here on Saturday. Covid-19 was confirmed in a 48-year-old female hailing from Chombala and 53 -year-old female of Madappally , both of them working at the Thalassery General hospital. The third case was detected when a 56-year-old, orakkatery native arrived from Chennai on May 21.

The fourth one is the 29-year old female hailing from Balussery working as a nurse at a private hospital in Mumbai. The fourth one arrived in Kozhikode in the New Delhi-Thiruvananthapuram special train on May 21 and was admitted to the Kozhikode Government Medical College hospital’s isolation ward.

Health workers working at the isolation ward of the Thalassery General Hospital are now admitted to a hospital in Kannur. The 56-year-old resident of Orkkateri reached his house from Chennai on May 21. He is currently undergoing treatment at the first-line treatment center at Lakshadweep Guest House, Kozhikode.

At present,11 Covid-19 patients from Kozhikode are being treated at Kozhikode Medical College, four at Covid-19 First Line Treatment Center and remaining five in hospitals in Kannur District. With this, the total number of Covid-19 cases rose to 45 in Kozhikode. Of this, 25 of them recovered from the disease.

The total number of persons kept under quarantine rose to 6444 which includes 709 new ones added to the list. Of this, 52 of them are admitted to the Kozhikode Government Medical College hospital and 22 to the first-line treatment centre at Lakshadweep Guest House, Kozhikode.
