Woman found dead in Bijoygarh had severe malnutrition: Report

Kolkata: The post-mortem of Sanchita Basu (38), whose partially decomposed body was found at her Bijoygarh residence earlier this week, revealed she was severely malnourished, the police said on Thursday. Sanchita’s mother (68) was found living with her body for three days.“There are indications that the women were suffering from malnutrition and had not touched food for days despite it being delivered to their doorstep,” said DC (Jadavpur) Bidisha Kalita. Basu’s body did not carry external injuries, indicating death was natural. Cops said Basu’s mental condition had worsened in the last six months. They had not even been using electricity. tnn
