West Bengal draft electoral roll: Does your name figure on SIR list? Find out today

KOLKATA: The draft electoral roll for Bengal, which will be published on Tuesday, will contain 7,08,16,621 names, among the 7,66,37,519 who were issued enumeration forms as part of the special intensive revision of voters’ records, Election Commission officials said.

The names of 58,20,898 ASDD (absent, shifted, duplicate and dead) voters will not figure on the list, which is expected to be published on Tuesday afternoon. A separate list of the ASDD voters is with the booth-level officers and booth-level agents and will be displayed at most polling stations.




“The draft SIR roll will be available on the websites of Election Commission, chief electoral officer and district election officer. One can search his or her name by entering the name and the EPIC number,” an official of the poll panel said. “The list will also be put up at the offices of DEOs, SDOs, BDOs, municipalities, panchayats and polling stations.”

After the draft list is published, one can submit claims or objections till Jan 15, 2026. Hearing of questionable cases, verification, anddisposal of claims and objections will continue till Feb 7.

“Among the 7,08,16, 621 voters whose names will figure on the draft list, close to 30 lakh are unmapped (their names and the names of their family members are not on the voters’ list published in 2002),” the official said.

All unmapped voters will be called to a hearing. Notice for the hearing will be sent after Tuesday. In addition, a section of the 1.7 crore-odd electors whose enumeration forms contained discrepancies will also have to attend a hearing,” the EC official said.

“The digitised draft list may contain some errors such as misspelt names. Those will be corrected later,” another EC official said.

The voters who will be excluded from the draft list will have to fill and submit Form 6 (application form for new voters), along with any of the 13 documents notified by EC, if they want their names on the final list. EC accepts Aadhaar as proof of identity, not of citizenship. So if anyone furnishes Aadhaar, he/she has to provide any of the other 12 documents as citizenship proof.

EC on Monday uploaded the draft roll on the BLO app, enabling the BLOs to view the status of electors in their respective part numbers.

TOI spoke to several BLOs and learnt that 100-150 names were struck off each list. A BLO in Maniktala said, “My part number had the names of 721 electors. Today, I checked the draft roll on the app and found that 137 names have been omitted. Most of them are in the category of untraceable, shifted, dead and unmapped voters. One of the electors got his name deleted as he did not return the form.” A BLO in Baghajatin said the list given to him had 832 names. “Of them, only 652 have made it to the draft list,” he said.
