The Royal Thai Consulate-General in Kolkata just hosted a book handover ceremony at Kolkata Centre for Creativity. The ceremony was part of an ongoing series of activities which commemorated the 75thanniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Thailand. The Thai Consul-General in Kolkata, Acharapan Yavaprapas, presided over the inauguration ceremony of the Thai Corner and subsequently, the book handover ceremony. The inauguration also marked the celebration of Global Media and Information Literacy Week, which celebrates the progress achieved towards media information literacy.
On the occasion, the Royal Thai Consulate-General, Kolkata, handed over some books about Thailand to KCC’s library. The initiative aimed to forge closer ties between India and Thailand. The Thai Corner and the contribution of Thai books at the KCC library would serve in establishing a better understanding of Thai culture among the people of Kolkata.
