Teacher arrested for raping disabled girl
KOLKATA: A school teacher was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly raping a 13-year-old, disabled student of class VII in an empty classroom at a Bongaon school on Tuesday afternoon.
According to local sources, the incident took place on Tuesday after the school got over for the day. “My daughter went to the school as usual on Tuesday morning. But the teacher, Aghor Buskey, had asked my daughter to stay back even after the school ended. He lured her to an empty classroom on the pretext of giving her text books. Then he abused my daughter sexually,” the girl’s mother said.
“The teacher was arrested on the basis of a complaint lodged by the girl’s mother. He was produced in the court and an investigation has already been started,” said Bongaon SDPO Arka Panja.
The school headmaster, Amiyo Ghosh, claimed the allegation was false.
“The teacher is well-known in the school for his simplicity and good behaviour. I suspect he was falsely implicated. However, the law will take its own course and police should investigate it properly,” he told TOI.
