Southern Ave boulevard turns into park

KOLKATA: Mayor Firhad Hakim on Sunday inaugurated a park for senior citizens on the Southern Avenue boulevard, near the Southern Avenue-SP Mukherjee Road intersection. Hakim also inaugurated a children’s playground nearby.

“Senior citizens had asked for a park as they couldn’t visit the Lake regularly,” said KMC chairperson and MP Mala Roy. “Now we should focus on better upkeep of the amenities,” said councillor Manisha Bose, adding the playing arena would give kids a scope to enjoy themselves.
