Kolkata to get warm & humid in 48 hours: Met
Kolkata: While Kolkata remained cloudy and windy on Saturday, it will now get warmer, said the Met office. The 88 km/hour nor'wester that lashed the city on Friday afternoon kept the maximum temperature nearly two degrees below normal at 33.3°C on Saturday. The minimum slid to 23°C, four degrees below normal.
“Since no further system is in sight and the wind patterns are not conducive to major thunderstorms, the city will get gradually warmer in the next two days. The maximum will climb to around 35°C, which is normal. The weather will get warm and humid,” said HR Biswas, deputy director-general of meteorology.
While it could stay cloudy on Monday, chances of rain or thunderstorm were low, said weathermen. There may be isolated rain or thunderstorms in some south Bengal districts from June 1 to 5, said Regional Meteorological Centre. Thunderstorms, rain and lightning, however, have been predicted across north Bengal in Darjeeling, Kalimpong and Jalpaiguri districts.
