Kanchanjunga Express mishap

At least eight people died and around 30 others were injured when a goods train collided with the Sealdah-bound Kanchanjunga Express near Rangapani station in West Bengal on Monday, authorities said. The impact of the collision caused three rear compartments of the express train to derail as the locomotive of the goods train struck from behind.

Balasore train disaster

The 2023 Balasore train disaster, involving the Coromandel Express, a goods train, and the Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express, claimed over 300 lives and injured more than 1,000 people.

In 2016, the Indore-Patna Express derailment in Uttar Pradesh resulted in the death of at least 146 people due to carriages crashing into each other.

West Bengal train crash

On 28 May 2010, a train derailment and collision with a freight train in Bengal, about 83 miles west of Kolkata, killed 146 and injured over 200. Maoist rebels were blamed for sabotage.

Rajdhani Express mishap

The Rajdhani Express from Calcutta to New Delhi plunged into the swollen Dhabi river in 2002, killing at least 120 people. Railway authorities cited sabotage as the cause.

On 2 August 1999, a collision between two trains in Gaisal, West Bengal, killed 285 people and injured 312.

The Sealdah Express collided with a derailed train in Punjab in 1998, killing at least 210 people.

On 20 August 1995, more than 300 died and 344 were injured in a collision between two trains at Ferozabad, near Agra.

On 6 June 1981, India's deadliest rail accident occurred when a train derailed in Bihar and plunged into the river below, killing more than 800 people.

Train plunged into Marudyar river

On 23 November 1956, a train plunged into the Marudyar river after a bridge was destroyed by flooding, leaving at least 154 dead and 115 injured.

The 1954 tragedy

On 28 September 1954, a train traveling between Madras and New Delhi derailed after the collapse of a bridge, leaving at least 137 people dead and 100 injured.

This type of list... and i can add several more... are only to find excuses (it had happened earlier too). The question I will like to know is what was learning from each and whether loopholes were closed as thes accident causes were found ? Plus from near-misses? If they have, i am (personally) satisfied... but have they? When one talks of human error or terrorist, usually it is to avoid blame for real cause.
