Kolkata: BJP's Tollygunje MLA Papiya Adhikary said on Tuesday that Tollywood's EIMPA was currently without a president amid leadership confusion, and that stakeholders must wait a week for free and fair elections to determine the new head.
She refused to acknowledge Ratan Saha, who was felicitated as the new president in the presence of various EIMPA members and veteran director Goutam Ghose, pointing out that there was no concept of interim president in EIMPA. Adhikary also dismissed Piyaa Ssengupta claim that she still legally held the EIMPA president's position, pointing out that she had merely secured three votes in a recent no-confidence motion.
"I have sent across a message that elections will be held in a democratic manner," Adhikary added.
